1. Jim Corbett National Park

The biggest tiger reserve of India – Jim Corbett National Park is the most important sanctuary for them in the country. The wildlife safari organised at this national park lets you view all of these tigers in their natural surroundings. But apart from the Bengal Tigers, you also get to view the crocodiles, deer, bear, and 33 species of reptiles. So, you’ll definitely get to view plenty of flora and fauna when you visit this park. However, remember to inquire in detail about the entry fee and other charges plus the timings before you head to this park.

2. Sunderban Tiger Reserve

One of the most exceptional and prominent tiger reserve is the Sunderban Tiger Reserve located in West Bengal. Home to the royal Bengal tigers, this reserve also includes lots of other endangered animal species as well. The location of the tiger reserve is such that you’ll see creeks of three major rivers of the country meandering across the land which leads to the presence of lots of birds here. So, apart from spotting the tiger, you’ll get to view some rare species of birds as well.

  • Timings — 7:00 am – 5:00 pm

3. Sariska Tiger Reserve

If you are taking a self-drive car rental from Delhi, you’ll reach Sariska Tiger Reserve after driving for about 200 kilometres. A great sanctuary and national park to spot the Bengal tigers, Indian leopards, and crocodiles easily, you even get to view some of the most magnificent flora and sceneries in this reserve too. After viewing the rare species of animals and birds like Egyptian vultures and eagles, you should also visit the ruins from the 10th century — Garh-Rajor.

  • Timings — 7:00 am – 4:00 pm

4. Periyar Tiger Reserve

One of the most astounding holiday destinations of Kerala, the Periyar Tiger Reserve lets you view some of the most astounding offerings of nature. The forest area of this reserve is famous for its luscious greenery and artificial lake. But yes, you should plan a jungle safari to view the tigers residing here apart from the wild boar, elephants, and langur.

5. Bandipur National Park

One of the famous nearby places to visit from Bangalore, the Bandipur National Park of Karnataka, is known as the best maintained sanctuary in the country. This spacious national park is also the largest habitat of rare wild animals like the Indian rock pythons, sloth bears, Indian elephants, and tigers. What’s more! If you want to camp in the national park itself, you’ll find lots of camping options and tents in the vicinity for your convenience.

  • Timings — 6:30 am — 8 :30 pm and 3:30 pm — 5:30 pm

6. Nagarhole National Park

7. Pench National Park

Apart from viewing all these, you can also enjoy nature walks and sightseeing.

8. Anamalai Tiger Reserve

Located in Tamil Nadu, the Anamalai Tiger Reserve is one of the most prominent ones in South India. You get to spot quite a few tigers in this sanctuary no doubt. But apart from these, there are around 2,000 species of plants and a large number of reptiles and mammals like giant elephants, cobra, pythons and more in this park. The Valparai Waterfalls just around the tiger reserve makes the ambiance even more pleasant and inviting.
